General Definition of Work
The Hampton Hall Club’s Pool Attendant/ Server/ Bartender is responsible for executing the Club’s poolside activities and events; provides food and beverage service at the pool to club members and guests and acts as Activities Leader for poolside games. This position reports directly to the Director of Sports and Recreation.
Essential Functions
The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.
- Administer activities at the outdoor pool area and ensure compliance to all safety rules and regulations and monitor all persons entering issues and ensure appropriate authorization.
- Always maintain neat and clean pool area and water and perform everyday cleaning of pool and pool equipment.
- Maintain neat and clean Splash Cafe and perform scheduled sanitizations.
- Ensure neat and clean restrooms.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with associates and residents and ensure compliance to all safety programs and policies of organization. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
- Organize and participate in all training classes and install and break down pool deck or fitness room equipment on everyday basis.
- Manage and greet all guests pleasantly and ensure efficient supply of fresh towels to all residents and guests.
- Coordinate with Splash Café food preparation providers and maintain clean glasses.
- Provide optimal level of services to all guests and residents and ensure compliance to facility policy.
- Monitor inventory of all pool tools, towels, and/or fitness equipment.
- Ensures safety precautions are followed and identifies possible safety hazards.
- Organizes and monitors pool games; suggests pool side games.
- At end of day returns swimming aids and pool toys to the locker
- Straightens the pool at the end of the day.
- Follow all Hampton Hall Club security and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
- Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon seating. Addresses member by name when possible.
- Distributes menus.
- If local water conservation laws permit, fills glasses with ice water; answers questions and suggests menu items
- Takes members’/guests’ orders
- Records orders into Point of Sale system in a timely fashion.
- Assembles food on tray; procures items from each station as necessary.
- Serves meals and beverages promptly
- Checks back to ensure member/guest satisfaction; replenishes water and butter as necessary
- Removes soiled dishes
- Other Duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Superior interpersonal abilities
- Familiarity with Jonas or similar POS food-service system
- General understanding of the principles of food and hospitality service
- Must be willing to work in a team environment
Education and Experience
- A minimum of two years of hospitality service is preferred.
- Bartending experience
