POSITION SUMMARY:
The Breakfast Attendants primary responsibility is to Set up and break down each morning's complimentary breakfast buffet, ensuring buffet items such as fruits, breads, cereals and bakery items remain well-stocked, maintaining the safety and appearance of the buffet area and cleaning the area in preparation for the next day. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction. Must be a morning person with availability during the week and weekends. The Breakfast Attendant's position starts working at 4:30 AM and stays until about 11:30 Am or 12 PM.
The Breakfast Attendant must understand that they are a part of a larger food & beverage department, and their work reflects not only the department but the entire hotel team, Hampton Inn & Suites and Hilton Worldwide brands in general. Present a professional and properly uniformed appearance. Meet department guidelines for attendance and punctuality. Demonstrate personal integrity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist in setting up complimentary breakfast areas. Polish all glass, plates, and stemware. Place food product out in an appetizing and appealing manner.
- Greet all guests arriving and ensure all guests entering are allowed access. Familiarize new guests with the stations and offer any assistance.
- Clean up after guests are finished and prepare for the arrival of new guests. Maintain lounge by sweeping, detailed cleaning of all countertops, chafing dishes, cabinets, pantries, chairs, and tables. Dusting of mirrors, artwork, computer, desk, fax machine, and display tables. Cleaning of windows, sweeping of patio, cleaning of trash from guests in landscaping around patio. Clean all walls and entry doors. Clean highchairs.
- Break down all stations and return dirty dishes to the kitchen. Refill all supplies, including salt and pepper dispensers, restock napkins, condiments, and leave lounge stocked and clean for the next shift. Clean refrigerator, start dishwasher, clean kitchen floors, and clean cart while placing clean bus tubs.
- Complete all food service training within 14 days of hire; other essential training and certification within 30 days of hire, to include CPR.
- Know all essential functions of the Point of Sale (POS)system, monitor voids and no sale transactions.
- Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
- Replenish silverware, sugar caddies and condiments.
- Light to moderate food preparation.
- Refill beverage containers.
- Mop, wipe and sweep when needed.
- Breakfast Attendants are also tasked with acting as representatives of the hotel and are therefore required to provide a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere to guests.
- Demonstrates attentiveness and responsiveness to guests needs, ensures follow-through and completion.
- Always demonstrates excellent guest and team member relations, with all departments.
- Understands safe handling of food, beverage, heat sources and other service equipment. Work with culinary staff to recover unused / unserved foods.
- Ensures safe and correct storage of equipment.
- Ensure maintenance of beverage stations.
- Is able to meet flexible scheduled hours as required to serve guests / clients. Demonstrate punctuality, excellent attendance and proper uniform standards.
- Assist in other hotel work areas as instructed by supervisor.
- Report any maintenance needs to ensure that our facilities, furnishings and equipment are maintained in a like new condition.
- Participate in training and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge to become a more productive and effective team member; perform assigned tasks in other areas within the Food & Beverage department, such as suite service, banquet service (all meal and service types).
- Certain uniform components are issued by the hotel, others to be provided by the server; hotel issued items should be worn only during hotel shifts. The uniform should be maintained in like new condition by the employee, following proper laundering and care instructions. This is a critical component of portraying the professionalism that is required of all hotel positions. For safety purposes non-slip shoes are required.
Supportive Functions In addition to the performance in the duties delegated to the breakfast attendant, the attendant must possess good communication skills for keeping customers informed of breakfast offerings and hotel information. As the position calls for working in a fast-paced, customeroriented environment, the attendant should be courteous, efficient, and friendly. Attendants must have a strong capability to multitask, be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 25 lbs. and work with cleaning chemicals.

A hotel operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. During the course of your scheduled shift, you may be asked to assist in areas of the hotel outside of your typical work areas.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is desired, but not essential.
- Previous related experience food service supervision, hospitality, banquet service - strongly preferred.

Duties may require that the employee stoop, kneel, or crouch; reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate tools or controls; be able to lift and / or move heavy objects including tables, carts / caddies and cases of food and beverage; must be able to lift approximately 25 pounds overhead.
