Position Summary
The Hampton Inn & Suites in Decatur, Alabama, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our team. The AGM will support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational efficiency. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities/Operational Leadership
- Assist in managing day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring smooth functioning across all departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage.
- Monitor and maintain brand standards, ensuring compliance with Hilton policies and procedures.
- Conduct property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards are consistently met.
Guest Satisfaction
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Monitor guest feedback, reviews, and surveys, implementing corrective actions to improve service quality.
- Foster a culture of hospitality and service excellence among the team.
Staff Supervision and Development
- Assist with recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising hotel staff.
- Provide leadership and coaching to department heads and team members, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor employee performance, conduct evaluations, and assist in implementing professional development plans.
Financial Oversight
- Support the General Manager in preparing budgets, monitoring expenses, and analyzing financial reports to meet revenue and profitability goals.
- Assist in implementing cost-control measures without compromising guest satisfaction or service quality.
- Work closely with the sales team to identify opportunities for business growth and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Oversee risk management, security, and emergency procedures to protect guests, employees, and property assets.
Qualifications/ Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Management/ Supervisory experience, preferably within the Hilton or Hampton Inn brand preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests, employees, and management.
- Proficiency in hotel management systems, such as PEP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and poise.
- Knowledge of revenue management strategies and financial analysis.
Work Environment
- This position requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the property for extended periods.
- Occasionally may need to assist with operational tasks, such as lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs.
