A hotel maintenance worker is responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a hotel property, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, lighting, and various equipment, ensuring the building and grounds are kept in optimal condition and meet safety standards, often responding to guest requests and work orders as needed. Key responsibilities may include:
- General repairs:Fixing issues with plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, doors, windows, flooring, appliances, and other building components.
- Preventative maintenance:Conducting regular inspections and servicing of equipment like HVAC systems, generators, fire safety systems, and kitchen appliances to prevent breakdowns.
- Guest requests:Responding to guest maintenance requests promptly, including fixing leaky faucets, malfunctioning TVs, or broken furniture.
- Cosmetic repairs:Painting, patching walls, replacing light fixtures, and maintaining the overall appearance of the hotel.
- Grounds maintenance:Maintaining outdoor areas like landscaping, walkways, and parking lots.
- Emergency response:Addressing urgent maintenance issues during emergencies or after hours.
- Record keeping:Documenting maintenance activities, repairs, and work orders in a computerized system.
- Safety compliance:Adhering to safety procedures and regulations when performing maintenance tasks.
Skills and qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general carpentry skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and climbing
