Job Title: General Manager

Job Summary:
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring financial profitability, exceptional guest satisfaction, and adherence to Hampton Inn brand standards. The GM will lead and develop the hotel team, drive revenue growth, and maintain operational excellence while fostering a positive guest and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage.
- Ensure compliance with Hampton Inn brand standards and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the hotel meets cleanliness, safety, and quality standards.
- Manage property maintenance, ensuring timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
2. Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the hotel’s budget, controlling costs to achieve profitability goals.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including ADR (Average Daily Rate), RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room), and occupancy rates.
- Approve purchases, manage vendor relationships, and ensure proper inventory control.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and forecasts for ownership and corporate.
3. Revenue & Sales Management:
- Implement strategies to maximize room revenue and occupancy through rate management and yield strategies.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to drive group and corporate bookings.
- Build relationships with local businesses, tourism boards, and event planners to increase hotel visibility.
- Manage online reputation and respond to guest feedback on platforms like TripAdvisor and Google.
4. Guest Experience:
- Uphold Hampton Inn’s commitment to outstanding guest service ("Hamptonality").
- Resolve guest complaints quickly and professionally, ensuring complete satisfaction.
- Monitor guest feedback, implement service improvements, and strive for high guest satisfaction scores (e.g., SALT scores).
5. Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor hotel staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of respect, teamwork, and hospitality.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety standards, and company policies.
6. Compliance & Safety:
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health, safety, and employment laws.
- Enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ensure proper handling of guest data and compliance with privacy policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Experience:Minimum 3-5 years of hotel management experience, with at least 2 years as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
- Previous experience with Hampton Inn or another Hilton brand is highly preferred.
- Skills:Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent financial acumen and understanding of hotel revenue management.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., OnQ) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of sales, marketing, and customer service principles.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the property for extended periods.
- May require lifting or moving items up to 30 lbs.
- Must have a flexible schedule, including availability on weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
