What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel General Manager position at Hampton Inn Carbondale IL?
Seeking a dynamic Hotel General Manager to manage the daily operations of this Hampton hotel. Strong knowledge in managing staff, revenues, labor and product costs. Hiring new staff if required and training department heads to brand standards. Three to five years of management, preferably in the Hilton Brand. Must lead with a positive, professional leadership style, have outstanding organization skills with excellent problem solving and decision-making.
Requirements:
Lead staff in best customer service expectations by maintaining a friendly, attentive, and service oriented demeanor in all interactions with guests and hotel staff all the while making sure
- Promote open lines of communication with employees, guests and corporate office.
- Supervise and develop the performance of all operating departments including, but not limited to: Front Desk, Housekeeping and Maintenance to ensure the highest possible levels of guest satisfaction in a cost efficient manner.
- Keep open communications between leaders within the hotel staff and work to develop high quality staff that are aligned with the high level of guest service that is expected.
- Maintain security and safety systems within property and ensure that proper inspections and maintenance is attended to.
- Accurately manage expenses and payroll
- Ensure compliance with local and state requirements for licensing and permits.
- Analysis assessment of data and information from multiple sources to arrive at solutions that will be beneficial to the business.
- Respond to hotel guest concerns, reviews and hotel issues in a professionally focused manner.
- Assure regular repair, upkeep, and overall general maintenance of the hotel and facilitate a system of on-going maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Ensure all franchise policies and procedures are fully implemented in all departments, including safety and emergency guidelines.
- Develop relationships within the community and form professional alliances to help expand the Hilton brand and reputation.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.

- Ability to establish a detail oriented workflow to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with guests, vendors, staff and central office employees.
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

- Ability to organize work, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimal direction.

Schedule:
- 8-10 hour shift

- On call
- Some weekends
