Job Description
A hotel maintenance worker performs a wide variety of duties related to the upkeep and maintenance of a hotel’s operations on both the interior and exterior of the building.
Job duties include but are not limited to building groundwork, public areas cleaning, maintenance tasks, and punch lists for preventative maintenance.
This is an entry level position that will include hotel maintenance training with our chief engineer.
Job requirements include the following:
- Candidates must possess a basic knowledge of hand tools.
- Consistent weekend and morning shift availability.
- Must pass an extensive background and drug screening process.
- The desire to learn and perform basic plumbing work, painting, flooring/wall repair and upkeep, basic electrical repairs, and heating and air conditioning system maintenance.
- Acknowledge all guests and create a positive guest environment, be prepared to work in a highly social environment.
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment often completing work orders between guest check-out and check-in
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Move up and downstairs, service ramps, and/or ladder.
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
- The ability to complete repetitive tasks that may require standing for long periods of time.
- Previous experience is a plus. This position reports directly to our Chief Engineer.
