SUMMARY
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for:
Supervise the operations of the housekeeping staff promoting a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, protection of assets and minimal expenses.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Housekeeping Supervisor’s primary responsibilities will include:
Supervise the housekeeping staff; providing open communications, training, coach and counsel and provide performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency.
Supervise and inspect the cleaning of the guest rooms, turndown service, public areas and back of the house; ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, and health/sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Issue assignments to staff reviewing special requests and areas of concentration to ensure a smooth flow of the housekeeping operation.
Issue supplies/goods to staff at beginning of shift in order to control inventory and ensure proper supplies are available while controlling expenses.
Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
Log items into the Lost and Found and answer inquires to maintain controls and ensure guest satisfaction.
Implement emergency training and procedures to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel, guests, staff and company assets.
May assist the morning staff in the performance of duties to include: cleaning of lobby, room inspections, trash removal.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITY
Knowledge of computers.
Posses a good command of the English language and ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate with guests, both in person and by telephone.
Thorough knowledge of hotel services and facilities.
Must have professional image and personality exuding confidence and leadership skills.
Ability to focus attention to details and be able to organize, prioritize and follow up.
Must be able to take initiative and work productively within any given period of time unsupervised.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all guests and general hotel information.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if necessary.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education – High school diploma required.
Experience – One year experience in related field preferred.
