Overview

The CIO will partner with key business leaders to develop and implement an IT vision for Hampton Lumber, including subsidiary Companies. The CIO will lead the development of a roadmap of goals and activities, with timelines, for progressing toward this vision. Elements to consider include Office Technology (including AI / Data Viz); Servers / Data Services; Operations Technology; Enterprise Business Systems. Through collaboration, the CIO will endeavor to understand the key IT underpinnings of our businesses and integrate the evolving world of IT into the goals for how the business functions will perform in the future from an IT perspective. This position will report to the Hampton Lumber's CEO, along with working heavily with the Hampton Lumber Executive Team, CEO of RedBuilt, CEO of Idaho Timber and President of TRAPA.

Responsibilities

  • IT Vision and Roadmap Development and Follow Through. As stated above
  • Leadership : Leading and mentoring the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and ensuring that the team has the skills and resources needed to achieve their objectives.
  • Annual Planning and Budget - Responsible for developing IT annual plans of initiatives and projects to meet business needs and wants. This annual IT plan will be the basis for the annual / quarterly IT budget.
  • Cybersecurity : Ensuring that the organization's information and technology assets are consistently secure from cyber threats and if a cyberattack occurs can seamlessly restore systems and back-ups. This involves implementing security policies, managing risk, and responding to security incidents.
  • Compliance and Governance : Ensuring that IT practices and systems comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaboration : Collaborating closely with other executives and departments to align technology initiatives with overall business objectives and address any technology-related challenges or opportunities.
  • Vendor Management : Managing relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure that the organization receives value from its technology investment

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills and Knowledge of Computer Systems and Technology- A strong background in information technology, including knowledge of databases, networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, software development, and project management. Knowledge to be able to create and manipulate databases and knowledge of some coding languages like Java and Python.
  • Interpersonal skills - Experience communicating well with colleagues, stakeholders, and other executives. Able to translate technical jargon for non-I.T. employees. Other important interpersonal skills include flexibility, teamwork, and active listening.
  • Leadership and management experience - Experience leading diverse teams, including IT staff, project managers, external vendors, and business stakeholders. Experience building, motivating, and guiding teams.
  • Strategic planning and vision - Experience developing and implementing IT strategies that support and drive the overall business strategy. Has a good understanding of market trends and future technological needs.
  • Digital literacy -Technology savvy, digitally native, and have an innovative mindset.
  • Professional experience - 10 years or more of professional experience.
  • Education Experience - Achieved a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science, IT management, or database administration. Advanced degrees such as MBA or master's in computer science, IT management, or database administration preferred.
