What it's like to be a Nurse, ICF/ID Facility, LPN at Nurse, ICF/ID Facility, LPN
As a Nurse LPN at our ICF/ID facility, you will play a critical role in monitoring the ongoing medical needs of clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This position involves providing oversight of medication management while performing comprehensive nursing assessments to develop and implement personalized nursing care plans and clinical documentation. You will coordinate access to essential medical services, including consultations with physicians, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing on-call nursing services as required by the rotation schedule. Your work will entail continuous interaction with clients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary treatment team members, including agency staff and medical providers. The immediate health and safety of the clients depend on your expertise and dedication, making this role both vital and rewarding.

Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program is a vital requirement, alongside a minimum of one year of clinical experience that includes medication administration in various settings such as community programs, hospitals, and nursing homes. Previous experience in ICF/IDD/REACH and mental health is highly preferred. Furthermore, licensure as a Practical Nurse by the Virginia Board of Nursing and a valid Virginia driver's license are mandatory to ensure the delivery of safe, effective care to our clients.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
- One (1) year clinical experience to include medication administration in a community program hospital and nursing home setting.
- Previous ICF/IDD/REACH and/or Mental health experience preferred.
- Licensure as a Practical Nurse by the Virginia Board of Nursing is required.
- Valid Virginia Driver's License.
