What does a Licensed Therapist-Partners In Recovery do?
As a Full-Time Licensed Therapist in the Partners in Recovery program at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a pivotal role in delivering quality comprehensive outpatient counseling and medication management to adults grappling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Your responsibilities will include managing a caseload of clients, conducting initial and comprehensive Service Plans (ISP), and performing clinical assessments, including the ASAM assessments. Utilizing a person-centered approach, you will engage in individual, group, and family therapy while applying complex theoretical models and evidence-based best practices.
Additionally, you'll conduct random drug screens, maintain meticulous documentation, and provide clinical recommendations and discharge plans. This position allows you to contribute to the training and supervision of interns and license-eligible staff, ensuring a collaborative and growth-oriented environment, ultimately enhancing the well being of our community in Hampton, VA.

To excel as a Full-Time Licensed Therapist in the Partners in Recovery program, candidates must possess a valid LPC, LCSW, or LMFT license and have at least two years of clinical experience in therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention, and case management. Successful applicants should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to foster trusting relationships with clients, as well as exceptional analytical abilities to conduct comprehensive clinical assessments. Proficiency in the relevant software tools and a solid understanding of evidenced-based practices are vital for maintaining accurate documentation and delivering effective therapeutic interventions.
Additionally, being eligible or approved for Managed Care Organization (MCO) credentialing is essential. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- LPC LCSW or LMFT
