YOUR DAY AS A NURCE, PSYCHIATRIC CARE (RN)
As a Full-Time Psychiatric Care Nurse (RN) at RCSC, you'll be a key player in providing life-changing care to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Your role will involve working closely with a staff psychiatrist to assist with the prescription, administration, and monitoring of client medications. You'll also conduct in-depth assessments to determine the appropriate medical and nursing care for each individual.
Your responsibilities will include developing and evaluating individualized treatment plans, overseeing the safe and accurate management of medications, and coordinating medical services, including referrals, transportation, and medical appointments. You'll also offer supportive counseling to clients and families, and provide crisis intervention and emergency services when necessary.

WOULD YOU BE A GREAT NURSE, PSYCH CARE (RN)?
To thrive in this role, we're looking for someone with a combination of clinical expertise, compassionate care, and a collaborative spirit. Ideal candidates will hold an RN License as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Board of Nursing, have at least one year of behavioral health experience, and be willing to register as a QMHP-A trainee within the first 30 days of employment. A valid Virginia Driver's License is also required.
In addition, you will need strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to provide crisis intervention, and a passion for working with individuals in need of psychiatric care. Your ability to build trust and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team will be key to your success in this role.
