What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investment Banking Associate position at Hampton Reid?
We are currently partnering with a Leading middle-market Investment Bank, looking to add an Associate to their growing team, based in Richmond, VA.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of sell-side M&A transactions, focusing on founder-led, family-owned businesses with EBITDA typically ranging from $5M to $50M.
- Work across a range of sectors, maintaining a generalist approach.
- Manage deal processes from origination through closing, including conducting due diligence, financial modeling, and preparing marketing materials.
- Liaise with clients and senior bankers to drive deal success and ensure timely transaction execution.
- Mentor and manage junior team members, providing guidance and support in their development.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in Investment Banking, preferably from a middle-market or bulge bracket firm.
- Strong M&A transaction execution experience, ideally with exposure to sell-side processes.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to work autonomously and take on leadership roles in deal teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
