Position Summary/Objective
The Survey Helper assists the survey team in measuring and mapping out construction sites. This role involves supporting the lead surveyor with fieldwork, data collection, and equipment maintenance to ensure accurate and efficient survey operations.
Principal/Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Aid surveyors in setting up and operating surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and levels.
Assist in gathering field data, including measurements, elevations, and site features.
Help in preparing and maintaining survey sites by clearing obstructions and setting up markers or stakes.
Perform routine checks and maintenance on survey equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Document survey data, sketches, and observations accurately.
Adhere to safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Communicate effectively with the survey team and other construction personnel to facilitate smooth operations.

Must have a high school diploma or GED
Must have at least 2 years of experience in a relevant profession
Knowledge working in a professional environment
Personality with solid organizational skills

Basic understanding of surveying principles and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Work inside a tunnel, on marine trestles over water, and on roads
Time in field and office; Exposure to extreme temperatures when in the field as well as high levels of noise and varying levels of dust.
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective vests when on-site.
Physical Demands
Climb ladders and scaffolds carrying the survey equipment
