What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Supervisor position at Hampton Roads Hotel?
The Housekeeper Supervisor is responsible for cleanliness of the hotel property. Cleaning areas of accountability include: guest rooms, public areas, hotel grounds, laundries, administrative offices and all support areas. Monitors both the productivity and quality work of the Room Attendant teams, Housemen and Public Area Attendants. Through routine physical inspections the Housekeeping Supervisor determines and coordinates work cleaning projects and priorities to insure that all quality standards are met. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring 100% adherence to Hotel Brand Standards. Reports directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine property walk-throughs and facility inspections.
- Coordinates assignments, projects and priorities
- Daily pre-shift meetings to review hotel occupancy, groups in-house as well as monitors and insures compliance with policies and procedures.
- Insures that all employees in the have the tools, equipment and supplies needed to accomplish their respective jobs
- Ensures that the hotel all cleanliness and service standards as defined by hotel brand.
- Enforces 100% staff compliance with uniform and grooming standards
- Ensures housekeeping support and storage areas are in a clean, neat and orderly fashion
- Responsible for all supply and linen month end inventories.
- Manage and inspect the cleaning of the guest rooms, public areas and back of the house; as well as health/sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness. Monitor and ensure that the Housekeeping staff performs their job functions to the hotel’s expected level of service. Assist the Housekeeping staff whenever necessary in performing all job functions
- Issue assignments to staff reviewing special requests and areas of concentration to ensure a smooth flow of the housekeeping operation.
- Issue supplies/goods to staff at beginning of shift in order to control inventory and ensure proper supplies are available while controlling expenses. Ensure all supplies are ordered with accurate usage factors and are received in a timely manner
- Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction. Ensure departmental compliance with guest requests and follow up to ensure satisfaction
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and communication skills (verbal & written).
- Computer literacy.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Experience Prior experience as Housekeeping Supervisor preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Possess a good command of the English language and the ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate with guests, both in person and by telephone. Must be able to take initiative and work productively within any given period of time, unsupervised. Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all guest and general hotel information. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays; if necessary.
