The Office of Financial Aid is seeking an Assistant Director responsible for supervising the Financial Aid Counselors and the Call Center temporary staff. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the Associate Director, Title IV Compliance Officer and Director, in resolving customer service -related issues and inquires received from students, parents, to include campus administrators, external educational affiliates, etc. Perform a range of oversight responsibilities to include but not limited to, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, in accordance with University Handbook. Oversee daily operations of the financial aid office in coordination with the Director. Assist in developing and enforcing financial aid policies and procedures. Provide leadership in student outreach and financial literacy programs. Manage counselors’ training and development in financial aid processes.
Job Duties:
- Manage escalated issues from campus administrators, students and parents
- Conduct Financial Aid Presentations
- Monitor financial aid website for timely and accuracy of data presented
- Monitor social media pages for matters pertaining to the HU OFAS
- Develop process mapping for new students and continuing students
- Review subsequent ISIRs (i.e., FAFSA records from Department of Education for accuracy)
- Review verification data from students and parents; update corrections in system
- Serves as the primary liaison with HU Online Financial Aid
- Assists the Director with coordination of communication with campus partners
- Manage the Financial Aid Mailbox
- Develop call statistics strategy for handling call volume
- Manage Call Center with temporary employees
- Serve as Back up to the financial aid management team for campus meetings, events, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous financial aid experience preferred; worked in managerial role in a fast-paced environment; supervisory experience with public speaking experience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Higher Education or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial aid administration (preferred).
- Experience with federal, state and institutional financial aid programs and compliance regulations.
- Experience with FAFSA processing, verification, and compliance reporting.
