Position Summary:
- The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting quality control inspections, implementing quality assurance processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues in accordance with ISO 9001 and any other relevant QMS standard. These duties will range from physical inspection of products to maintenance of documentation and support of Continual Improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Two years’ experience working within an established QMS
- Technical Math Skills
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office products
- Certified Quality Technician Certification preferred
- Experience with AIAG Core Tools preferred
Essential Job Functions:
- Incoming materials inspection (IQC) and/or outgoing material inspection (OQC).
- Auditing (internal, process, product, vendor, documentation).
- Operate measurement and/or test equipment; collect and analyze data from inspections.
- Work within established QMS framework.
- Initiate and/or implement corrective actions.
- Write, review, and/or update procedures.
- Failure analysis (customer returns).
- Provides technical support to operators on the production lines.
- Assists in training personnel on Quality Alerts and other Quality related processes and procedures.
- Investigate and provide information in support of response to quality related issues.
- Work with the operators and staff on various quality improvement projects.
- Maintain proper records and files for Quality Department.
- Trend analysis (i.e. yield, capacity, efficiency, etc.).
- Drive action based on information, up to and including stopping production or shipments, if the situation warrants. Communicates appropriately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with ISO 9001 preferred
- Experience with IATF 16949 preferred
- Detail oriented, follows instructions, and reliable
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Anility to read and understand procedures, specifications, and drawings
- Ability to multi-task and stay focused in a fast-moving environment
