Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of accounting principles, including SOX compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Record and maintain financial transactions, including bank and credit card transactions, in Sage or similar accounting software.
- Assist with month-end reconciliation, including bank and credit card account reconciliations.
- Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Support payroll processing (bi-weekly), including tracking PTO, Simple IRA contributions, and employee benefits.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Track and reconcile inventory purchases and costs.
- Maintain accurate records for budgeting, expense monitoring, and financial forecasting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency in Sage or other accounting software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.
