A mindful family in Kakaʻako is seeking a dedicated nanny to care for their 9-month-old son and 2.5 year old daughter in a nurturing, screen-free environment. The ideal nanny will prioritize safety, embrace mindfulness, and engage with their son and daughter in meaningful, developmentally appropriate activities. Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role is professional, detail-oriented, and mindful, maintaining a positive mood and putting the children first. They will:

• Be reliable, communicative, and proactive in meeting the family’s expectations.
• Have the physical ability to lift and care for a 9-month-old child.
• Avoid wearing strong perfumes or scents while working.
• Be willing to support light housekeeping tasks, including toy organization and folding laundry during naptime.
• Engage the children in enriching afternoon activities, spend time outdoors, and assist with dinner and bedtime routines.
• Respect the family’s screen-free philosophy and align with the goal of promoting creative play.
• Knowledge of Japanese language and culture is a plus, though not required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive and nurturing care for a 9-month-old child and 2.5 year old including daily routines such as meals, naps, playtime and bedtime.
• Facilitate outings to the playground and age-appropriate activities, and assist with drop-offs and pick-ups for classes like ballet and gym.
• Perform child-related tasks such as laundry, folding, and putting away clothes.
• Handle light housekeeping duties, including vacuuming, organizing toys, and cleaning up after meals (handwashing dishes as needed).
• Support a clean, organized environment by managing shared family and kids’ laundry.
• Prepare healthy snacks and meals, adhering to the family’s holistic and whole-food principles.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Currently living on Oahu
• Willingness to undergo a background check and DMV record search
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Reliable transportation and punctuality
