HCCO is searching for a dependable, hardworking, detailed individual to join our service team. Our Alignment Technician will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and correcting vehicle alignment issues to ensure safe and optimal vehicle performance. You will utilize specialized equipment and your expertise to restore vehicles to factory specifications, improving tire wear, handling, and fuel efficiency

Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle alignments using specialized equipment, including laser alignment systems and computerized wheel aligners.
  • Inspect steering and suspension systems for wear or damage, identifying necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Diagnose alignment problems and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Adjust camber, caster, and toe angles according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Road test vehicles to verify alignment accuracy and handling performance.
  • Document all work performed, including measurements, adjustments, and parts used.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest alignment techniques and technologies.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues and recommended repairs.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in automotive technology preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Alignment Technician (specify years of experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of vehicle suspension and steering systems.
  • Proficiency in using alignment equipment and tools.
  • Ability to accurately measure and adjust alignment angles.
  • Knowledge of vehicle specifications and repair procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models.
  • Familiarity with electronic alignment systems. Language Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
