What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Tech position at Hancock County Health System?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides ultrasound services per provider order in the hospital/clinical setting. Assists in scheduling/registration and completes all Ultrasound/Vascular procedures as described in the policy and procedure manual; assists in the coordination of procedures with the radiologist and interpreting physicians. Technologist will supervise the technical aspect of the Ultrasound area in the absence of the Radiology director, providing support and leadership skills. Will be responsible for maintaining any records required for QA purposes. Will provide patient care in a manner consistent with department policies and procedures, this includes but is not limited to, transporting patient to and from department. Will work and communicate with the Radiologist to ensure quality patient care and imaging.
HOURS:
PRN - work as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certifications and Permits to Practice in Iowa must be provided. Must hold a certification from RDMS for abdomen, OB, vascular and breast or willing to seek certifications. Vascular experience preferred especially with ablations and sclerotherapy procedures. Must be board eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer required at hire/transfer. Must have good computer skills. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
