Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a hospice setting, ensuring their comfort and dignity during end-of-life care. This role involves working closely with patients and their families, assisting with daily living activities, and maintaining a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide meal preparation and assist with feeding as needed.
- Monitor and record vital signs to ensure patient health and comfort.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist in lifting and transferring patients as required, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff to implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
Skills
- Experience in home community care or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or other disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate compassionately with patients and families.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques that cater to specific dietary needs.
- Familiarity with monitoring vital signs and basic health assessments.
- Ability to lift and assist patients safely while following proper techniques.
