Transitional Living Worker—Part Time SEEDS Grant, Meadville
This is a mental health program that provides skills teaching and support, in a home-like setting, to help adults with mental health diagnoses, gain independent living skills. The ultimate goal is to help the individuals in the program choose, get and keep their own homes or apartments.
Part Time 18-22 hours per week, every other weekend off
Day time hours, no overnights
- Help residents take charge of their day to day living
- This person is a creative motivator and cheerleader
- Administer medications and teach residents skills towards self-administering
- Help person gain a better understanding of their mental health diagnosis, symptoms and triggers
- Teach skills towards making and keeping appointments as well as the use of public transportation in getting to/from appointments. Take residents to medical & mental health appointments as a last resort.
- Attend treatment teams & help Resident’s use their voice to self-advocate
- Teach residents skills to advance their level of independence
- Teach problem solving skills and conflict resolution
- Teach relationship skills on how to be a good housemate as well as a good neighbor
- Help with assessment tools to show progress towards increased independence
- Take individuals to look at housing options in the community
- Complete housing applications
- Ride the public bus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 22 per week
