Hand & Stone Franchise Corporation is currently seeking a Payroll Manager to manage, process and oversee the payroll function for company operated spas and corporate employees.

Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle payroll preparation and processing for multiple states (PA, NJ, FL plus remote employees) in a multi-entity environment using ADP Workforce Now for 800 employees and growing.
- Perform payroll processing and certain administrative tasks such as updating employee changes, salary & deduction information and terminations.
- Run various pre-payroll processing reports, perform necessary comparisons and audit to ensure proper payroll balancing of all time batches and any adjustment batches. Including timecard exceptions, paid time off reconciliation, new hire entries, garnishments etc.
- Run special payroll runs, process manual checks, and out of sequence payroll runs
- Manage time and attendance, including auditing, consolidating and resolving discrepancies as required
- Responsible for owning the payroll vendor relationship. Main point of contact to manage the relationship.
- Manage benefits administration and retirement plan in HRIS/payroll system, ensuring technology and file feeds are working properly.
- Interface with Managers and answer employee inquiries related to all payroll questions.
- Prepare and analyze periodic reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, historical data and other relevant reports.
- Ownership of the company payroll tax filings and deposits, working with vendor to ensure compliance with local, state and federal tax agencies. Reviews and manages quarterly and annual tax filings and deposits. Sets up new local and state tax accounts as needed.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Set up and compliance with garnishment and support orders including Federal, State, and local tax withholding.
- Prepare and send requested information to internal and external recipients as required including audits including workers' compensation and 401(k).
- Perform standard control procedures and maintain payroll-related records while ensuring legal compliance.
- Year-end payroll processing tasks including W-2 reconciliation, 401(k) Plan Testing, and ACA reporting, and other compliance reporting as requested. Responsible for consistent wage and hour compliance monitoring.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures for efficiencies and scalability.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Review and verify spa compensation submissions for hourly employees, including commissions, tips, overtime, and time-off requests prior to processing payroll.
- Research and correct issues found during processing.
- Work closely with the HR team to resolve employee related pay inquiries and issues.
- Review and validate data flow reporting for accuracy from HR system into payroll system.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate final reports for approval.
- Responsible for processing small, biweekly Canadian payroll using Ceridian Dayforce.
- Backup for employee onboarding.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, accounting, or related equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience processing payroll start to finish. Experience managing benefits and retirement plans in HRIS/payroll system.
- Extensive experience in ADP Workforce Now required.
- Must have experience working for a multi-state and multi-company environment.
