Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate Candle Making Workshop Host to lead our candle-making workshops in various breweries, distilleries, vineyards, caffes and other locations in Austin, TX and around. This role is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills and flexible schedule. The Candle Making Workshop Host will be responsible for guiding participants through the candle-making process, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience while fostering creativity and craftsmanship. No particular candle making experience needed, but it is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging candle-making workshops, explaining techniques and best practices.
- Prepare workshop materials, including wax, wicks, fragrances.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during the candle-making process.
- Assist participants in assembling their candles, providing guidance on design and technique.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
- Manage inventory of supplies and materials needed for workshops.
- Make pictures of workshops and send them with the report to the management.
Please note: this job requires driving to the venue and back. The travel costs are compensated. We are happy to negotiate the distances and offer jobs at closer locations to you.
Experience
- Previous experience not required.
- Car and clean driving license required for the job.
- Must be fine with lifting boxes up to 20lbs.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with workshop participants.
- A creative mindset with a passion for crafting and teaching others.
- Flexibility to work evenings during the week and day time during the weekend is required. Each event is confirmed with the host before it goes public, so we are able to negotiate the times and days.
- The compensation is per hour. One event is 4 hours: 1 hour preparation, 2 hours workshop, 1 hour cleaning time. Maximum group of people in the events is 40, minimum is 10.
- This job is a contractor type job. You are responsible for paying your own taxes. We do issue the 1099 form at the end of the year as a requirement by IRS.
