Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated caregiver to work with children who have autism and behavioral needs. The ideal candidate will possess the understanding and empathy required to support these children in a nurturing environment, without judgment or frustration. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized care and support to children with autism and related behavioral needs.
• Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where the children feel comfortable and supported.
• Use positive behavior strategies to help manage challenging behaviors and promote social, emotional, and developmental growth.
• Build meaningful, trust-based relationships with the children, understanding and respecting their unique needs and personalities.
• Assist with daily routines, including but not limited to meal times, school activities, and personal care.
• Communicate effectively with family members and team members to provide the best care possible.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children, particularly those with autism and behavioral needs, is preferred but not required.
• Strong patience, empathy, and understanding in handling situations with children who have diverse needs.
• Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and consistent in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a care team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the unique needs of each child.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 38 per week

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
