Bakery Associate (Union Market)

Who We Are:

We’re Handcraft Doughnuts, a start-up artisanal doughnut shop in Washington, D.C., looking for a Front of House Bakery Associate to assist us with creating memorable moments for all of our guests at our new Union Market location.

The Bakery Associate will make the first impression with all guests, has passion for fine foods, and naturally enjoys creating good memories.

The largest part of your role will be to interface with guests and ensure they have an enjoyable experience each and every time they visit.

Compensation: Part-time, hourly $17.00 tip share

Here’s what you’d be responsible for:

• Greeting and effectively communicating all menu offerings to guests (cross-selling and upselling when possible) with Company policies
• Deliver exceptional guest service
• Act as a company advocate and embody the Handcraft Doughnuts culture - be alert and ready as guests arrive with a positive attitude
• Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, and sanitation are maintained
• Take and prepare orders
• Build packaging
• Act with a meticulous eye for detail when packaging and serving
• Assist with cleaning duties as stated on opening / closing and weekly checklists
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment behind and in front of the counter
• Report to work at the scheduled time for each shift and fulfill the job requirements for the duration of the shift or until relieved of all duties by a direct supervisor
• Practice proper credit card and cash handling procedures in accordance

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25-35 lbs
• All employees are required to maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance
• Ability to stand for extended periods

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
