Location: Richmond, VA / Monday through Friday, 1:30PM to 10:00PM / $21.83 Hourly with Benefits and a $1,000 Signing Bonus

We are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for our Richmond, Virginia plant.

The Facilities Technician has knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the painting trade and general facilities upkeep. The ability to properly apply and mix paint to match colors. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, lighting fixtures, and other generalized building maintenance. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently.

The Facilities Technician has knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the painting trade and general facilities upkeep. The ability to properly apply and mix paint to match colors. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, lighting fixtures, and other generalized building maintenance. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently.
The ideal Facilities Technician Candidate Has:
- Minimum two years' similar experience
- Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment by following established inspection procedures. Needed repairs to include basic plumbing and electrical work.
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing old paint.
- Fill nail holes, cracks and joints with putty, plaster, or repair full drywall sections to like new conditions
- Tape, float, and texture walls, ceiling and floors
- Select premixed paints or mix required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint to match specified colors.
- Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers; Stain, seal, and varnish wood surfaces.
- Safely replace lighting bulbs and ballasts
- Erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
- Maintain inventory of tools and assist with inventory control of materials and equipment.
- Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
- Work with management and supervisors to complete projects.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Store, handle and dispose of paint, stain, varnish, and other chemicals according to established procedures.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Knows proper use of various hand tools and has their own hand tools.
- Is a team player who can work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Is physically able to perform the duties of the job (move heavy equipment/machinery, climb ladders, perform repetitive motions, walk/stand, etc.)
- Work outside and inside; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, ladders, and scaffolding; and around machinery with moving parts.
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, excessive noises, fumes, and toxic chemicals.
- Has as strong communication skills.
- Is willing to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends and holidays.
