We are currently seeking a Human Resource Generalist for our corporate office.
The primary role for this position is to support and assist the Chief Human Resources Officer. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for administrative support and assistance for all day-to-day Human Resources functions including but not limited to payroll, compensation, benefits, leave, recruitment, HRIS, HR software platforms, performance management, company policies and practices.
The Responsibilities of the Candidate Will Be:
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Supports and assists the Corporate Recruiter
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
- Knowledgeable and experienced with company requirements for background checks and MVRs
- Administers new hire orientation/onboarding
HR Systems and Data Management
- Maintain electronic organization charts, spreadsheets, and an in-house HR database (iSolved, Bamboo)
- Updates and maintains HR systems, records, and reports with accurate employee data
- Monitors key HR metrics and provides reports and updates as requested
Performance and Recognition
- Assist with performance management programs
- Manages employee recognition platform and programs (Awardco)
- Coordinates drug testing programs (Evolution)
Employee Support and Communication
- Assists with employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Chief Human Resources Officer
- Assists and advises employees and managers regarding various routine HR procedures and policies
- Assists the Chief Human Resources Officer with employee progressive discipline, terminations, employee inquiries, and unemployment
Compliance and Knowledge Management
- Assists with the compliance of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
- Assists in reviews of policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law
Required Skills and Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously and independently.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (particularly competent at Word and Excel).
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and ATS systems.
- A creative, self-starting mindset and a passion for Human Resources.
- Spanish language proficiency preferred.
Other Requirements and Expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 2 years of human resource management experience.
- HRCI-aPHR or PHR or SHRM-CP required.
