Well, Handex is currently seeking soon to be college graduates that are excited and highly motivated to train as Staff Scientists in Environmental Remediation and Contamination Assessment Services (soil/groundwater sampling and oversight work) at our New Jersey client sites. Position reports to our Jackson NJ location and will be hybrid (office/onsite/home).

What will be my responsibilities and objectives?
- Learn how to to perform sampling and monitoring, which can include the following: Groundwater sampling, soil sampling, vapor intrusion air sampling, well installation, soil borings, potable well surveys, aquifer testing, and pilot testing.
- Develop skills using mechanical equipment, pumps and tools.
- Become familar with NJDEP regulations, SOP’s, guidelines ao as to ensure all Handex activities are in compliance.
- Learn how to assist with permitting.
- Maintain an open line of communications with internal staff and clients as needed.

Salary Range:
$50K to $55K

Requirements:Requirements and skills needed for success:
- College degree in environmental science, geology or hydrogeology required.
- Internsihip and/or exposure to contamination assessment and remediation services: sampling, drilling, field assessment, remedial design, systems operations, and maintenance ofequipment and wells and pumps.
- Comfortable being outside in various weather conditions and working on environmental activities (soil/water/vapor).
- Experienced and willing to learn how to use mechanical equipment, pumps and tools.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and TWIC card a plus but not required
- Proficient technical writing and documentation skills a must.
- Highly proficient IT skills with a variety of software tools including Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, etc.). AutoCad knowledge a plus.
- A team player who is organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, willing to learn and take direction that has a can do attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, (comfortable in-person, via phone and/or via electronic communications) a must.
- Willingness to travel to New Jersey client locations.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing a must.
- Ability to pass background checks: criminal/physical/drug/alcohol required.
Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
