Handi Van is looking for reliable and compassionate individuals to assist members of our community with transportation to medical appointments, leisure activities, and more. Responsibilities:
- Transport clients to various destinations, including medical appointments, schools, stores, and more.
- Assist clients in and out of the van, including helping with wheelchair ramp access.
- Secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices safely in the vehicle.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of clients during transport.
- Provide friendly, reliable, and trustworthy service to clients.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude with both clients and coworkers.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 23 years of age (per insurance requirements).
- Ability to assist in pushing a wheelchair up a ramp into a van and securing it (training provided).
- Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license with a clean driving history (one year of licensed driving required).
- Must pass a background check through the Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Able to acquire a DOT physical (paid for by Handi Van).
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen (note: marijuana is not allowed due to federal regulations).
- Be punctual, reliable, and dependable.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be friendly, responsible, and enjoy meeting new people.
