Maintenance Superintendent Role
The Maintenance Superintendent oversees on-site administrative and technical management for Electrical and Mechanical operations. Utilizing their working knowledge of electrical systems, including control and industrial wiring, pipe fitting, plumbing, welding, shop machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, and instrumentation, they maintain plant equipment at optimal levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing all necessary documentation for site access, laydown, and logistics for contractors and vendors.
- Organizing, coordinating, and supervising the work of in-house crafts and subcontractors on construction and maintenance projects.
- Providing direct oversight and development of Maintenance Tooling Leaders and their teams, including Maintenance Technicians and Tool Die Makers.
- Supporting safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvement initiatives.
- Driving preventative maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) functions and optimization.
- Executing the site's reliability strategy in partnership with technical maintenance leadership.
- Developing and implementing cost-effective plans for preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Working extended hours, including nights and weekends, in support of process operations.
- Collaborating with other factory and department managers to ensure department performance expectations are met, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes.
- Reviewing and approving purchases related to the maintenance budget.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant years of experience.
- 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- At least 5 years of progressively senior-level experience in a mill maintenance environment.
