Position: Production Manager
*This is an on-site position located approximately one hour north/northwest of downtown KC.
Position Summary
Oversee the daily operations of a pipe and tube manufacturing plant, managing a team of supervisors and production line employees. This role is responsible for planning production schedules, setting productivity goals, and ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance in all manufacturing processes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct all phases of plant operations through staff members.
- Plan and oversee production schedules, providing progress updates to management.
- Identify and address potential challenges in meeting work order fulfillment schedules.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve production goals, with monthly and annual performance reviews.
- Ensure all work is conducted safely, and that production processes run efficiently and comply with safety protocols.
- Verify that manufactured products meet quality standards and client specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all governmental regulatory standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven work experience as a Production Manager, preferably in a pipe and tube manufacturing environment.
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles.
- Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise.
- Knowledgeable in safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, or related field, or a minimum of 10 years of experience in the industry.
Physical Demands:
The role requires regular communication, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee frequently stands, walks, and uses hands to handle or feel. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
