Your impact

Handshake is seeking a highly motivated Commissions Analyst to join the Finance and Accounting team and support the growing Handshake business. In this role you will be an essential player in all aspects of sales compensation process, lead building processes and controls and partner with cross-functional Handshake teams.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, great interpersonal communication skills, willingness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Your role

  • Accurately calculate and process monthly and quarterly sales commissions
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams on monthly commission accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Develop comprehensive reports and templates for analyzing sales performance data supporting commission payouts
  • Lead monthly and quarterly commission payouts review process
  • Assist in implementing, administering, and managing sales compensation plans in sales commission software (Spiff)
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and HR teams to document controls over commission procedures
  • Serve as the primary contact for all commission-related inquiries, timely investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Create and maintain documentation for all commission-related processes
  • Lead improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance program efficiencies

Your Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience within high growth environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Knowledge of accounting rules and practices
  • Proficiency in using sales compensation tools (Spiff experience is a plus)
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems (Salesforce and NetSuite experience is a plus)
  • Deep knowledge of sales compensation processes, key metrics, business KPIs
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of transactions, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, develop processes from ground, proactively suggest improvements
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to perform research, reconcile data and propose solution
  • Excellent communication, persuasion and interpersonal skills

Compensation Range

  • $104,000 - $150,000

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
