Your impact
Handshake is hiring a Senior Software Engineer reporting to Craig Rabara, Engineering Manager, on the Education (EDU) Partnerships squad. In this role you will contribute to the team's mission of reinforcing Handshake's foundation with education partnerships by making it easy for career services teams to develop their employer network and leverage it to help students prepare for their career search. As a member of the EDU squad, your work will have a direct impact on career services users and influence how they leverage Handshake's educational tooling - internship management, employer relationship management, career guidance - to support job seekers. You will have the opportunities to lead large projects through all developmental stages from early brainstorming and requirements refining to architectural design and scoping to execution and release.
Your role
- Your day-to-day work will feature regular collaboration on a cross-functional team with a designer, product manager and other engineers. You will also engage frequently with engineers, support, marketing and additional functions across the organization.
- You will architect and build features that our education partners use daily to engage with job seekers and guide them in their career journeys.
- You will lead by example in maintaining a high standard of quality in your own work and in the feedback provided to peers in code review and architecture discussions.
- You will lend your technical knowledge and experience to influence the team's roadmap and prioritization of innovation and operational health initiatives.
- You will provide mentorship to engineers and unblock and support your team to meet deliverables.

Compensation range
180,000 - $260,000
For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
