SUMMARY
Responsible for selling machinery products to business and industrial establishments. The role involves developing, managing, and expanding a designated sales territory in alignment with budgeted goals. Key responsibilities include engaging with customers, driving proactive sales efforts, and providing feedback to corporate teams. Candidates must either be based in or willing to relocate to the Richmond, VA or Baltimore, MD areas and surrounding regions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
- Compiles annual revenue budget estimate for assigned territory. Measures success against this criterion.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories and other sources.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, and/or talks with customer by phone.
- Displays/demonstrates product using samples or catalog and emphasizes salable features.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Communicates market conditions and trends to management.
- Serves as a technical resource for clients, customers and company personnel.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of manufacturer’s production and delivery schedules and/or company’s inventory.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Represents company at trade and industry meetings, shows and conventions as requested.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
College degree preferred and 1-2 years related experience preferably in Capital Asset Sales or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective time management and planning skills; self-motivation; excellent customer service skills; ability to work under minimal supervision; ability to meet goals, partner and build relationships with vendors, other branch GMs and their various Account Managers.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is required. Ability to effectively present information and respond to question from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
This position requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. In addition, the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is also required. Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, area, circumference and volume.
REASONING ABILITY
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient computer skills required to include basic understanding of Microsoft Office, email and internet.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit and use arms/hands/fingers to reach handle or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
