SUMMARY
Diagnoses problems and services sheet metal machinery and related metal fabricating machinery through repair and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
- Diagnoses functional problems with sheet metal machinery and metal fabricating machinery.
- Identify new replacement parts for machinery.
- Fabricates miscellaneous components (covers, guards, supports, etc.) for machinery.
- Cleans machinery using pressure washer, steam cleaner, or parts degreaser.
- Observes all company safety practices and procedures including protective hearing and eyewear.
- Performs preventative maintenance services on customers’ machines, company shop and field equipment.
- Maintains daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
- Makes suggestions regarding added value to current parts and repairs.
- Utilizes tools in a safe, proper, and efficient manner.
- Presents a professional image to customers.
- Travels to customer’s facilities as required.

All Mach Srv & Repair Tech I KSAs, plus: Graduated to deconstructing, reconditioning, identifying parts that need replacement, complete the machine assembly, safety and correctly installing needed parts, trim, adjust and test machinery for safe and proper function. Has been released to work in the field with trained personnel, able to complete repairs and preventive maintenance with partner technicians. Able to work and perform individually, in any environment (Shop, Customer Location, Fabrication center). |
Mach Srv & Repair Tech III |
All Mach Srv & Repair Tech II KSAs, plus: Be able to work with and Train other Technicians, providing overall guidance and direction. Work within a region, or wherever needed, managing customers and responsibilities. Be able to recommend the need for new machinery, offering tradeoffs, benefits, and savings. Respect and maintain all tools, exhibiting mastery over their uses and safe operation. Understand dangers and violations in safety protocols at customers shops, communicating them to the proper individual. Recommend future service and PM needs. Establish future schedules to be communicated to coordinators. Be able to work with new Techs providing training, overall guidance, and direction. Be able to manage a region or smaller teams of technicians providing proper company directives: Safety, Tool use, machine use protocols, test procedures etc. Coordinate with machinery admin. In pursuit of their goals. Manage, Train and Sell. |
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required; experience with machinery maintenance and repair, electrics and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment required.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Must have the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision including time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers and team-members in a professional manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet, and email.
- Must be able travel, including out-of-town.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Good hand/eye coordination and maneuvering around a shop environment. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working environment can involve grease, fluids, and electricity. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to elevated.
