Purpose:
To create an exciting, stimulating atmosphere in your store that will “WOW your Customers.”
To provide leadership and direction toward the common goal of increasing sales and containing controllable costs.
Job Summary
The Assistant Store manager is responsible for all day to day store operations to include asset control, decision making, supervising employees in the absence of the Store Manager. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for improving monthly the stores’ overall total sales, profit and loss statement to help reduce losses to the company.

Major Responsibilities
Daily Operations
- Daily paperwork- entering invoices, doing cigarette counts, beer counts, gas completion prices, deposits & Lotto/Lottery, ordering money as needed. Etc.
- Gas – competition price check, gas price changes, sign changes, receipt paper, sticking tank for water and to check levels. Also check ATG system, skimmer at the pumps.
- Payroll- review for punch errors, approve hours, prevent overtime, schedules and budgeting.
- Daily paperwork and computer entry is to be done in a timely manner.
- Vendor Control – check in vendor once product is in the store, check for damages, or other credits that need to be resolved. (Scan each case)
- Merchandise- order and maintaining adequate stock (no out of stock), all coolers stocked and fronted, displays are attractive, priced correctly and displayed in a safe manner. Merchandise what fits your neighborhood.
- Perform all price changes requests, mark down/up, etc. and communicate any pricing problems.
- Store Environment- Maintain an organized safe clean store; be compliant with health standard requirements. Be Proud of your store!
- Daily inspect the store for unsafe conditions report any if found.
- Implement and enforce daily operating procedures
- Budget & Expense control- understand the traffic patterns of your store, and achieve the proper balance between sales, customer service and labor costs.
- You must set a high standard in all areas for your team to follow!(Dress code, Self-Presentation, etc.)
Asset Control
- Cash & Inventory control –monitor cash and inventory shrinkage, drive offs, video viewing, night rides.
- Enforce all safety and security issues and report any and all unsafe conditions. Report IMMEDIATLEY any accident (General Liability, Worker’s Compensation)
- Maintenance – Reporting & Prevention
- Understand all information in the daily reporting and operation of the store.
- Follow and enforce all Company Policies and Established Procedures in the store.

- Motivate each and every member of your team to deliver their best for your customers, train them how to do that, and place them in a spot that best uses their talents. (Motivate, encourage, discipline and challenge)
