Position Summary: Plans, directs, and coordinates the distribution operations and supervises the activities of employees engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Observes all safety procedures, rules and regulations, and instruction in performance of job duties.
– Oversees the Shipping and Receiving Departments to ensure 100% order and receiving accuracy.
– Issues shipping instructions and provides routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated.
– Reviews shipping orders to estimate peak delivery periods and issues work assignments.
– Manages the cycle count process and schedule.
– Plans, develops, and implements warehouse safety and programs and activities.
– Prepares and manages department budget.
– Provides forklift training to Warehouse Workers or other employees as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
– Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, less than truckload and truckload shipping, and UPS and Federal Express small package shipping is required.
– Prior experience working on a Safety Committees is desired.
– Strong math and computer skills are required.
– Strong customer service and communication skills are required.
Level of Education and Experience:
– Three to five years prior experience as a Warehouse Manager is required.
– Prior experience working in an ISO certified manufacturing environment is highly desired.
– High School Diploma or equivalency is required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field is desired.
– Must be certified to provide forklift truck training.
