What are the responsibilities and job description for the READY Program Tutor position at Hanford Elementary School District?
ASSIGNMENT: School Year 2024-2025; Site to be determined – 4.5 hrs. per day; 184 workdays (10 months per year) Regularly assigned shift is: 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Wednesday’s schedule starts at 1:00 p.m. (Grant funded positions.) Recruitment also to develop a hirable list for future openings in 2024-2025 School Year and substitute opportunities.
To assist in the supervision and training of students enrolled in the Recreation Enrichment Academics Devoted to Youth (READY) afterschool program. Hanford Elementary School District is the largest school district in Kings County servicing nearly 6,000 students and employing over 700 personnel. Our District includes eight TK-6 Elementary schools, one K-8 Spanish Dual Immersion Charter school, two Junior High schools and one Community Day school. Equivalent to graduation from high school. Completion of or proof of enrollment in or progress towards 12 semester units of college level course work, preferably in child development. Obtain a passing score on the California High school Proficiency Exam and California Paraprofessional Exam. (In lieu of the CPE, provide documentation of successful completion of two years of higher education study (48 units) or Associates (AA) or higher educational degree.) Passing score on CBEST meets both requirements. Experience working with children in formal or informal settings. A valid First Aid and basic C.P.R. card and Bilingual skills highly desirable.
