Job Responsibilities/Duties
Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. This position is a Business Systems Analyst to support Training Department Tools and Systems.
Duties will include working as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements as they pertain to changes in business requirements, processes and information systems inclusive of electronic tool maintenance and administration. This position will have the responsibility for maintenance, operation, and administration of electronic tools that include, but are not limited to, the Training Department webpages, SharePoint pages, Vision Developer and Vision Learning Station Software, and the Training Implementation Process (TIP) software.
Act as point of contact and provide routine feedback between training management, training specialists, chief information office and process software engineering in functional and programmatic areas that support facility or area operations for electronic processes involving training tools and software.
Additional responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Use logic to build and maintain electronic workflows to support review and approval processes for the Training Organization.
- Cultivate business relationships as it pertains to improving and/or advancing business and operations processes through the delivery of information technology and services throughout the Training organization.
- Translate business needs into IT initiatives, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Understand the business strategy and work with various stakeholders to identify technologies that will improve and enhance business goals.
- Conducts technical implementation, configuration, monitoring, audit, administration and other support (including training needs) of training software.
- Pursues continuous improvement of information services, systems, and support that are provided to project operations and business groups.
- Identify and capture the needs of existing and potential IT opportunities.
- Define and translate standard documented processes to progress "ideas" into projects.
- Analyze IT systems to increase efficiency and improve business process.
- Research technology trends to keep informed and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in project management tasks using agile methodology.
- Other duties as assigned.
Support various Training Department goals:
Support and improve department use of electronic tools (both COTS products and internally developed).
- Gain efficiencies of tool use where able
- Eliminate redundant efforts
- Improve data/information quality through consolidated systems and improved integration.
Required Qualifications
Grade 17:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration or related field and 5 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Grade 18:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration or related field and 7-8 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Grade 19:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration or related field and 9 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with SharePoint, SQL database use and management, Application Development/Management at Hanford, including software quality requirements.
- Additional knowledge in Adobe products (including Premiere, Photoshop, Animator, etc) is helpful.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of organization.
- Promptly accomplishes assigned objectives and understand/identify issues and opportunities.
- Must have exceptional written and oral communication abilities
- Knowledge and proficiency with:
- SharePoint and PowerBI
- C#
- HTML5
- JavaScript
- Crystal Reports
- SQL
- Understanding of Relational Databases
Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Range Minimum: $96,938
Hiring Range Maximum: $147,775

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
