Job Responsibilities/Duties
Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C), the prime contractor for Tank Operations Contract, delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. H2C's Communications & Public Relations team is looking for an Event Planner whose primary function is create events to recognize, engage and reward the workforce. This person excels at event planning and related logistics, to include working with internal clients across various departments and external vendors, managing budgets, scheduling, and working in cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including registration, catering, audiovisual needs, transportation, and accommodations, to execute a seamless event experience.
- Collaborate with internal partners to define event objectives and requirements.
- Develop strategic event plans, including timelines and logistics.
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve the overall event experience.
- Identify and resolve obstacles, tracking progress along the way.
- Create and manage event budgets and track expenses, ensuring events stay within budgetary constraints.
- Identify and secure suitable venues for events and manage vendor relationships to ensure the successful execution of events.
- Develop and maintain event agendas, provide guidance to speakers or presenters, and share event planning best practices.
- Create and maintain websites, registration sites and provide registration reporting
Required Qualifications
* Grade 16:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Experience executing events of various sizes, using internal and external resources, that achieve senior leadership goals.
Desired Qualifications
* Knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, software.
- Photo/videography experience
- Writing experience
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $88,200
Hiring Range Maximum: $111,100
