Job Responsibilities/Duties
Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) is looking for an Industrial Hygiene professional to provide field support to capital projects and infrastructure upgrades in the IH Projects Organization. It is important to promote a positive, safety-conscious, and collaborative work environment consistent with the H2C mission, vision, and values, based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
As a qualified H2C Industrial Hygienist, they will provide direct support in the work planning process, which entails hazard recognition and assessments, the development of hazard control strategies and the corresponding sampling and/or monitoring requirements for verification. The Industrial Hygienist will be responsible for communicating sampling results to field workers and management. Additionally, Industrial Hygienists will be accountable for data review and analysis of sampling/monitoring results and the decision making based on the analysis.
They will ensure the requisite level of conduct of operations, safety management program implementation, and regulatory compliance in the planning and execution of work activities. As such, Industrial Hygienists are anticipated to provide job oversite to ensure compliance to hazard mitigation controls and therefore must maintain qualifications for a hazardous work environment, including 40hr HAZWOPER, Rad Worker II and maintain respirator qualifications.
The Industrial Hygienist will participate in additional professional development events, program wide assessments or other duties as instructed.
The Tank Farm Projects IH organization is a fast-paced environment that deals with unique industrial hygiene hazards, that require equally innovative approaches to protect the work force, while still delivering on mission critical projects. This individual will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including engineering, field teams, project and construction management, and other safety and health professionals, to develop and implement hazard controls. The individual will work on various construction projects which will require field time to address worker concerns, evaluate and mitigate changing conditions. Routine field time is expected and encouraged.
Required Qualifications
Grade 16:
BA/BS degree in related discipline (example: Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology or Business Management) and two (2) years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Grade 17:
BA/BS degree in related discipline (example: Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology or Business Management) and Five (5) years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Grade 18:
BA/BS degree in related discipline (example: Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology or Business Management) and Seven (7) years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.
Desired Qualifications
CIH or CSP credentials
Excellent interpersonal, communication, critical thinking skills and teamwork mentality
Ability to interact with various stake holders, including senior management
Organizational skills
Experienced with Microsoft Suite
Tank Farm field experience
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $88,200
Hiring Range Maximum: $134,588

Salary : $88,200 - $134,588
