Job Responsibilities/Duties
Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C), the prime contractor for the Integrated Tank Disposition Contract (ITDC), delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. H2C seeks an Operations Support Specialist who will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support to management on various processes that relate to Contractor Assurance Systems (CAS). The Operations Support Specialist, under general supervision, will be a self-directed individual capable of interpreting standards and specifications, policies and procedures and interfacing with multiple organizations to resolve issues. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
- Interface with other groups within the facility, department, and site in support of CAS.
- Support the assessment program, ensuring assigned assessments and observations are conducted to measure performance and maximize continuous feedback.
- Supports development and maintenance of department level and/or company level metrics and reports, as it relates to assessment and observation performance.
- Participate in corrective action development and timely closure of actions.
- Supports the Requirements Management Program, including the implementation of requirements in administrative and/or technical procedures.
- Supports the development of Lessons Learned as a result of identified issues.
- Delivers verbal/written reports, formal presentations, and recommendations to immediate management and/or DOE-ORP.
- Participates in assessments, event investigation activities, and/or cause analysis, as needed.
- Identifies areas of potential improvement.
- Develops and maintains training, as applicable.
Required Qualifications
Grade 13:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, or completion of degree by June 30, 2025.
Grade 14:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in databases and other data systems to create computer-generated reports.
- Ability to interpret and understand information from multiple sources, evaluate the credibility of multiple concepts and ability to analyze data and issues.
- Proven ability to communicate with subject matter experts, peers, management, support organizations and stakeholders.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Pro, Visio.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $66,338
Hiring Range Maximum: $91,975
