This role will lead category strategies, supplier management, and sourcing initiatives while driving cost savings, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.

The Procurement Category Manager – Indirect Procurement is responsible for managing and optimizing spend across various indirect procurement categories, including Rent/Facilities, IT Hardware & Software, Professional Services, Construction, HR Services, Marketing & Advertising, Postage/Freight, Telecom, Legal Services, Utilities, and more. This role will lead category strategies, supplier management, and sourcing initiatives while driving cost savings, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.
Your Impact
- Category Management & Strategy
- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for assigned spend areas, ensuring alignment with Hanger’s business objectives and operational needs.
- Analyze spend data, market trends, and cost drivers to identify cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation opportunities.
- Create and manage a multi-year sourcing roadmap for assigned categories, ensuring continuous value delivery.
- Lead RFPs, RFQs, and negotiations for high-impact categories, including Rent, IT, Professional Services, Construction, HR Services, and Marketing & Advertising.
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, performance, and innovation.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and regularly review contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, including Facilities, IT, HR, Marketing, and Operations, to align procurement initiatives with business priorities.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver sourcing projects, ensuring all business requirements are captured and met.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic advice to stakeholders on supplier capabilities, industry trends, and innovation opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and enforce policies and processes to enhance governance and mitigate risks across procurement activities.
- Partner with legal teams to manage contracts and ensure favorable terms.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives, including should-cost modeling, vendor consolidation, and demand management.
- Identify process improvement opportunities across procurement categories to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support sustainability and ESG initiatives within the supply chain.

- Real Estate/Facilities: Rent, Repairs & Maintenance (Building and Equipment), Refuse/Trash Removal, Janitorial Services.
- IT: Hardware, Software, Telecom, Equipment Maintenance, and Leases.
- Professional Services: HR Services, Legal Services, Marketing & Advertising.
- Logistics: Postage, Freight.
- Office Operations: DC & Office Supplies, Corrugated & Packaging.
- Utilities: Power, Water, and other Facility Services.
- Labor & Outsourcing: Casual Labor, Equipment Rentals, and Temporary Services.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and 8 years of experience, OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and 12 years of experience.
- Post graduate degree preferred.
- Works extremely well independently and in a team environment
- Highly Self-motivated
- Excellent professional written and oral communication skills
- Able to effectively and professionally present information one-on-one or in small groups
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Serve as a specialist on complex technical and business matters
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Sound understanding of contract language
