Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced environment. As a Cashier, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, responsible for providing excellent service while accurately processing transactions. Your role will be essential in ensuring a smooth checkout experience and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed during their shopping experience.
• Accurately process customer transactions using the cash register or POS system.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, ensuring all payments are processed correctly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the checkout area and café or kitchen spaces.
• Assist in restocking merchandise and maintaining an organized sales floor.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the grocery store or quick-service fast food restaurant.

Skills

• Previous experience in the food industry or grocery store setting is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and operating a cash register or POS system is advantageous.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products when appropriate.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
• Attention to detail, particularly when it comes to sanitizing work areas and handling food products safely.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 50 per week
