POSITION SUMMARY :
The Legal Department is seeking a transactional attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join a collaborative team. This position presents an exciting opportunity for a transactional attorney with experience in the Financial Services industry. The incumbent will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to sift through complicated legal and business issues and communicate only the important aspects in a clear and concise manner at all levels within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising various business agreements.
- Participate in contract negotiations and interface directly with business teams and corporate leadership at various stages of each project.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge and expertise in one or more substantive legal practice areas, such as consumer financial transactions, commercial financial transactions, retail banking, small business banking, corporate banking, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company's business, people, markets, brands, facilities, customers, and competitors to identify trends, anticipate issues, provide business-oriented solutions, and formulate appropriate long-term strategies.
- Perform moderately complex to complex legal, compliance and transactional research and analysis, and relative to such research and analysis, make decisions and communicate or escalate significant risks and issues, with recommendations for action, to Legal Senior Management.
- Assist in advising and representing the corporation on a variety of legal matters before regulatory agencies, including applications, examinations and requests for interpretive guidance.
- Assist in assessing, managing and resolving pre-litigation disputes and lawsuits filed in state and federal courts against Westlake entities in all 50 US States.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing pleadings, discovery and motions.
- Assist in conducting internal and external investigations of complaints concerning violations of company policies, laws, and regulations.
- Effectively acquire, assemble and manage legal documents and files responsive to time-sensitive inquiries.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & LICENSES :

PAY RATE :
160,000-$185,000 per year depending on experience. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
