Hankey Law Firm LLC, is a small firm located in North Alabama focusing on Family Law. We are currently looking to expand our existing staff to better serve the needs of our clients and the community.
We are excited as we continue to grow and are looking for a professional with a friendly attitude and the ability to multitask to serve as a paralegal in our firm. Position requirements are as follows:
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, detail oriented, able to multi-task with the ability to track and complete many items simultaneously as well as have great customer service skills. Must be able to care for clients, be self-motivated, and be a team-player.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings, briefs, discovery and contracts
- Manage, organize, and maintain documents in electronic case management, database and filing systems
- Acting as liaison among all parties including court or other neutrals for scheduling and sharing information
- Coordinating the collection, review and production of documents and responding to discovery requests
- Assisting with trial preparation including the assembly of exhibits, witness binders and appendices for depositions and court filings
- Summarizing deposition and trial transcripts and exhibits
- Researching case-related factual issues using in-house files and outside reference sources
- Compiling information and preparing statistics, charts, graphs and other summaries to detail the findings
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong knowledge of Alacourt, Alafile and OneDrive System
(including Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of Clio case management software and Mac Operating System a plus
- Ability to prioritize workload and assignments
- Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines without extensive guidance
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, etc.
- Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast- paced environment
- Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
- Ability to follow office direction and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Punctual with strong attendance history
- Clean and professional dress appearance at all times.
Experience and Education:
- High school required (no GED)l Must have some college
- Associate degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a
Bachelor degree preferred
- 1-5 years of proven working experience as a litigation paralegal
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
