Hanley Foundation, a West Palm Beach-based non-profit organization that aims to eliminate addiction through prevention, treatment, advocacy, and recovery support, seeks a Primary therapist for our mental health unit. Hanley Foundation is a state-of-the-art substance use/mental health treatment facility in sunny West Palm Beach, Florida.
The Primary Therapist will provide individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, and consultation services. In this role, you will collaborate with other staff members to ensure patients receive the best care possible. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) that requires working one weekend day. Standard business hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Directs therapeutic activities following directions from the Clinical Director.
- Coordinates mental health treatment services with the Clinical Director or designee.
- Reports all alleged incidents of abuse or neglect following all state standards and accrediting bodies.
- Ensures all records are accurate and timely, following Hanley Foundation policies.
- Ensures that all records are available for all state and accrediting bodies staff inspection.
- Initiates social service assessments of patients, including gathering social histories and other required treatment documentation.
- Provides and communicates aftercare recommendations to patients, family members, and the Continuum of Care department.
- Trains, or causes to be trained, staff, volunteers, and students under supervision as part of an internship or externship from a university or college degree program.
- Ensures that all relevant information is provided to the patient, the parents, or the patient's managing conservator on a regular basis, at least weekly.
- Coordinates with the Clinical Director to ensure consistency of treatment.
- Conducts intakes and screenings on potential patients.
- Conducts assessments.
- Responsible for the development of patient treatment plans.
- Creates discharge summaries and aftercare recommendations.
- Facilitates groups and lectures for patients.
- Conducts individual counseling sessions regularly and at least weekly for patients on caseload.
- Conducts family counseling sessions every week if appropriate.
- Provides clinical support for patients as needed.
- Engages in crisis de-escalation as needed.
- Responsible for patient case management issues as they relate to treatment delivery.
- Responsible for general documentation of patient records on caseload.
- Attends staff meetings as scheduled and as needed.
- Completes duties in a professional and timely manner.
- Is a contributing member of the treatment team.
- Protects patient's rights.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge, experience, and competence in specific areas of adult treatment, adult co-morbid complications, and family systems theory.
- Must be computer literate and be familiar with most Microsoft products and network components.
- Must have fluid communication skills that foster teamwork and high morale.
- Must possess a high degree of organizational skills.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, focusing on mental health and substance use disorders.
- Florida State license to practice as a therapist (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT)·
- Experience working in a residential treatment facility.
- Experience conducting individual and group therapy.
- If in recovery, one (1) year of continuous sobriety is required.
