Who is Hanna?

Hanna Interpreting Services LLC is a language services provider that offers in person, video, over-the-phone, and written options for translation, interpretation, ADA remediation, transcription, language assessments, voice over, and website localization.

Founded in 2010 by mother and son duo Jennifer Hanna and Tom Elias Hanna in their garage in San Diego, CA, Hanna has grown to more than 70 employees, served over 1 million non-English speakers to date in 200 languages, and has sponsored countless outreach events to serve the local community.

Who We’re Seeking:

We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Representative to focus on prospecting and growing our State/County/Local government client base. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to identify opportunities, build lasting client relationships, and drive revenue growth in the State/Local government sector.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales and a keen ability to identify, pursue, and close new deals via meetings, email, phone, and in-person. This role is perfect for a self-motivated individual with a hunter mentality, eager to drive growth and expand our client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential clients in the State/Local Government sector
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to connect with decision-makers
  • Understand client needs and position our language solutions to address their challenges and goals
  • Schedule and lead virtual or in-person meetings to present our services and value propositions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to craft tailored proposals and presentations
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, tracking all interactions and opportunities in the CRM system
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and competitors in the State/Local government space
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and contribute to the company’s growth objectives
  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, site visits, and social media
  • Utilize ZoomInfo to effectively identify buyer roles within assigned industries or territories
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management review
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies and company goals
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking events to build relationships and identify new business opportunities

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of State/Local government and other government verticals
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in a hunting role
  • Comfortable with face-to-face selling
  • Strong ability to identify and pursue new sales opportunities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in the use of CRM software (HubSpot preferred)
  • Proficient in the use of a Government Procurement platform (GovSpend preferred)
  • A self-starter with a high level of initiative and a results-driven approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with market research, sales strategies, and sales planning
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
  • Anticipated travel 30-40%
